About Letterpress
Launched in 2003 as an e-newsletter by Brandi Reissenweber, Letterpress focuses on the craft of fiction, the writer’s life and other bookish topics. Letterpress transitioned to a blog in 2010. The name comes from the letterpress printing technique where each inked letter is pressed into the paper. Every character is set by hand; thus, the document is created one letter at a time. The recessed paper gives life and vividness to the end result. And doesn’t that sound just like the writing process? We carefully craft our stories, coaxing each element to help reveal our intentions, often struggling word by word for fiction that seems effortless and that resonates.
